Civil War tour packages
Whether you're a Valley local with a history hobby, a Civil War buff on vacation, or a student of the Civil War engaged in academic research, Shenandoah Battlefield Tours has a tour for you!
Tours typically include both walking and driving, but we’re happy to customize your experience for your enjoyment.

A single battlefield tour starts with a map study, to enable you to better understand the action. Then involves a walk or drive through the battlefield grounds.
Some battlefields can be packaged together due to their proximity to each other (inquire when booking); others can be packaged into an extended tour for an additional fee.
We offer tours of the following Shenandoah battlefields:
Fisher’s Hill/Tom’s Brook Tour
Third Winchester Tour
Cedar Creek Tour
Cross Keys/Port Republic Tour
New Market Tour
Front Royal/Milford Tour
Second Winchester Tour
Price per individual battlefield tour:
$150/$175 (your vehicle/our vehicle)
Duration: half day (minimum)

Valley Campaign Tours start with extensive map studies to give you a better understanding of the campaign’s “big picture” before embarking on non-sequential site visits to walk or drive through the battlefields involved.
Due to the geographical length and breadth of these campaigns, battlefields are not visited in historical order. (Sequential tours can be accommodated for an added cost.)
We offer the following campaign tours:
1862 Jackson’s Valley Campaign Tour
1st Kernstown
McDowell
Front Royal
Harrisonburg (death site of Turner Ashby)
Cross Keys/Port Republic
Additional non-battlefield sites of significance
1864 Sheridan’s Valley Campaign Tour
Third Winchester
Fisher’s Hill/Tom’s Brook
The Burning
Cedar Creek
Additional non-battle sites of significance

The Union cavalry had a unique role and experience during the 1864 campaign in the Shenandoah Valley. George Custer received division command while in the Valley.
This two-day tour is one of our most popular, designed for George Custer and cavalry buffs, who enjoy tracing his troops’ paths across the Valley by foot and by car. (This tour differs significantly from the 1864 Sheridan’s Valley Campaign Tour.)
This tour includes visits to the following battlefields:
Third Winchester
Milford
The Burning
Cootes’s Store
Mill Creek
Tom’s Brook
Cedar Creek
Price:
$550/$600 (your vehicle/my vehicle)
